Among architectural sights, the Church of St. Peter-Paul, completed in 1929, is located in Tooni village. Piirissaar Harbour is located in the middle of the island, along the channel that crosses the island from north to south. The island has a boat connection to Laaksaar and Tartu.
A 1 km long hiking trail runs south from the harbour, leading tourists who have come to explore the island to the camping area and the beach. The second camping area on the island is located in Tooni village.
The Old Believers’ Museum, which provides an overview of the culture on the island, can be found in Saare village. There is also a beach and the so-called Titanics – sand barges brought to fill up the coastline in October 1987, which have become a kind of attraction on the island.
A former community centre, which has now been converted into the Village Centre, is located in Tooni village. The centre houses rooms that local residents can use to spend time in, a library, first aid station, and an internet point.
There
is a shop, which opens as needed, in Piiri village. In the summer period when
more people are on the island, the shop is open more days and longer. In the
winter period, however, the shop is open only one day a week.
