Piirissaar is an island located in Tartu rural municipality, Tartu County, on the border between Lake Peipus and Lake Lämmijärv, 15 km southeast of the mouth of the Emajõgi River. The size of the island has continuously decreased overtime, from 20 km², in the eighteenth century to 7.5 km², today.
